Theatre Specific Patient Handling

Theatre handling is designed specifically to assist staff who work in a theatre environment to move patients in a manner that facilitates safe surgery for everyone.

Theatre handling is an inherently practical training programme whereby learners first examine each move to be able to assess the risks involved. Learners then proceed to get hands on practice at executing each manoeuvre. This includes the use of all equipment available to the learners. The tutor examines the performance of each learner throughout the practice and gives immediate feedback on their technique as well as reinforcing the successful aspects of their technique.
