Amazon Web Services – Certifications

We have teamed up with New Horizons Ireland to bring our members the following certifications:

Programs are learner lead and sign up is managed directly via Waterford Chamber Skillnet. These certifications are currently FOC until 20th June.

  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner –
    • The AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner enables individuals with an overall understanding of the AWS Cloud to validate their knowledge with an industry-recognized credential.
  • Define what the AWS Cloud is and the basic global infrastructure
  • Describe basic AWS Cloud architectural principles
  • Describe the AWS Cloud value proposition
  • Describe key services on the AWS platform and their common use cases (for example, compute and analytics)
  • Describe basic security and compliance aspects of the AWS platform and the shared security model
  • Define the billing, account management, and pricing models Identify sources of documentation or technical assistance (for example, whitepapers or support tickets) Describe basic/core characteristics of deploying and operating in the AWS Cloud.
  • AWS Certified Developer – Associate

The AWS Certified Developer – Associate exam validates advanced expertise in developing and maintaining applications on the AWS platform.

  • Picking the right AWS services for the application
  • Leveraging AWS SDKs to interact with AWS services from your application
  • Writing code that optimizes performance of AWS services used by your application
  • Code-level application security (IAM roles, credentials, encryption, etc.)
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (SAA-C02)
  • Students will attain a deep knowledge of AWS infrastructure and design patterns on developing applications on AWS and attain skills to clear the AWS Certification Exam.
  • The AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate exam is intended for individuals with experience designing distributed applications and systems on the AWS platform.
  • Designing and deploying scalable, highly available, and fault tolerant systems on AWS
  • Lift and shift of an existing on-premises application to AWS
  • Ingress and egress of data to and from AWS
  • Selecting the appropriate AWS service based on data, compute, database, or security requirements
  • Identifying appropriate use of AWS Architectural best practices
