Craft Academy

The Craft Academy is a SKILLS CONNECT – FREE part-time programme designed for eligible UNEMPLOYED and UNDER-EMPLOYED individuals who are actively seeking to develop/grow their small scale craft idea/business to a commercial scale, and will include academic practice, along with focusing on the practicalities of bringing craft products to the market – in a Covid/Brexit environment.

This unique programme will cover topics that reflect the individual needs of programme participants, and will include areas such as, but not limited too;
  • Business & Financial Planning
  • Market Research
  • Product Pricing
  • Branding
  • Packaging
  • Product Design & Development
  • Product Launch
  • Market entry
  • Marketing
  • 1:1 mentoring for each applicant and their specific business needs and requirements.
Upon completion of this programme, participants will have
  • The confidence enter self-employment / take their business to the next level.
  • A support network of small business owners.
  • Industry exposure via trade fairs/markets (dependant on covid guidelines)
Eligibility criteria
  1. This is a SKILLS CONNECT 100% funded programme, available only to jobseekers, eligible social welfare recipients, as well as under employed individuals and individuals not in receipt of any social welfare payment.
  2. Applicants should have a solid craft business idea when applying for this programme.
  3. This programme is not available to anyone currently on a CE / TUS scheme or anyone in receipt of an educational grant.
HOW TO APPLY:
