OVERVIEW

This IGNITE – Line & Middle Management Development Programme strives to strengthen understanding across all aspects of business management. The programme is based on the Optimum Results‘ Holistic Business Model. This framework is useful as it is relevant to all organisations and industries and covers all aspects of business.

The ONLINE course will run over five days:

  • Mapping and prioritising our communications.
  • Asking Good Questions and LISTENING!
  • Role Specific communication challenges and barriers.
  • Managing Relationships.
  • Personal Communications Improvement Plan.
  • The Work-based Assignment.

Module 2: Managing People

  • Overview of the role of the Manager.
  • The key competencies required.
  • Assessing your management skills.
  • International best practice HRD models.
  • Managing roles and responsibilities.
  • Optimising training and development.
  • Facilitating Improvement.
  • Managing difficult people.
  • Examples of performance management.
  • Key elements of Labour Law.

Module 3: The External and Internal Customer

  • The Concept of external and internal Customers.
  • How every job role impacts on the external customer experience.
  • Understanding; Who is dependent on my work for their performance. Who am I dependent on for my performance?
  • Understanding the needs of external and internal Customers.
  • Assessing your performance in relation to internal and external customers.
  • Effective communication with Customers.
  • Developing an internal and external Customer Service Improvement Plan.

Module 4: Operations / Efficiency / Waste / Environment

  • Concepts of lean, efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Managing creativity and ideas.
  • Identifying and dealing with bottlenecks.
  • Concepts to innovations and improvements.
  • Systems and procedures for personal effectiveness.
  • Embedding performance improvement measures.
  • Project planning, implementation and management.

Module 5: Bringing it all together!

  • Review of learning and thinking.
  • The concept of personal effectiveness and performance.
  • Barriers, bottlenecks and blockages.
  • Managing relationships and essential communications.
  • The work-based assignment / presentation.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This course is suitable for Team Leaders, Supervisors, First Line Managers and Middle Managers who wish to improve both their personal and team performance.

Participants may be working in companies of all sizes and across all sectors as the programme is ‘fine-tuned’ to meet the needs of individuals, groups and organisations.

This Optimum Results’ IGNITE – Line & Middle Management Development Programme has been rigorously peer reviewed by the European Training Foundation (ETF) and is deemed to be of “International Best Practice” standard.
