On completion of this course, each participant will be equipped with insights to increase their awareness of strategies into raising the standard of professional care of the older adult.

The learning outcomes will include an understanding of:

The theories of ageing.
The physiological and psychological changes associated with old age.
Western society’s response to old age.
Legislation and organisations which support older people.
Successful ageing and healthy coping mechanisms.

Who should attend?

This course will be focused on the role of Care Workers/Senior HCA and those with an interest in Care of the Older Adult
Attendees should have: Level 5 Certificate, Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualifications and/or relevant life and work experiences. All participants must have fluency in English, spoken and written.
