A 2 day course which teaches key skills in identifying, managing and resolving workplace conflict. The benefits for attendees are an understanding of how to communicate more effectively, promoting good workplace relations and productivity. The course is beneficial for staff that are supervisory, client-facing, and who may routinely deal with interpersonal conflict as part of their roles.

5) Resolving impasses in Workplace negotiations
The 2 presenters are experienced workplace and commercial mediators who have successfully completed hundreds of mediations over the last few years. They have provided consulting services to state, semi-state and private sector companies on how to avoid and manage workplace conflict.
Dr. Roisin O’Shea – Dip, BA (Hons Law), Ph.D. Dr. Róisín O’ Shea is an award-winning Irish Research Council scholar and mediator, who was awarded a Ph.D. in March 2014. She is a council member of the Mediators Institute of Ireland (MII). She was invited in 2016, and again in 2017, to join the AFCC (Association of Family and Conciliation Courts) international committee headed up by Prof Janet Walker. Róisín is a founding partner of Arc Mediation. She is an expert in Family Law and Employment Law, and has significant experience in family, workplace and commercial mediations. She is an Employment Law consultant and trainer to private and public sector companies and has carried out workplace investigations, chaired disciplinary hearings and created staff handbooks and policies for client companies.
Shane Dempsey – Dip, BSc, MSc
Shane Dempsey is a trained and practicing mediator since 2008, and is a founding partner of ARC mediation established in 2010. Shane has completed over two thousand hours of mediations since ARC was founded, with over two hundred agreements in family, workplace and commercial cases. He is a member of the Irish Commercial Mediation Association (ICMA). Shane has developed “Dempsey’s Rule” a Game Theory algorithm for the fair distribution of moveable assets upon the dissolution of a partnership. The term “partnership” meaning business partnerships, civil unions and marriages. The rule can also be applied to the division of moveable assets amongst family members, not specifically allocated in a will.
