QQI 6 – Training Needs Identification & Design (instructor led)

Programme Aim

This programme aims to equip learners with the critical skills, knowledge and attitudes to identify training needs and to design a highly participatory, learner centred and engaging training programme for both groups and individuals in accordance with international best practice.

At the end of the programme learners will be able to:

1. Explain the training cycle

2. List key fundamental differences between education and training, teachers and trainers, learning and development, pedagogy and andragogy and clarify what excellent trainers do really well

3. Define, list benefits of and barriers to effective Training Needs Analysis and explore range of inputs, tools and approaches required to accurately identify the skill, knowledge and attitude gap

4. Conduct a Training Needs Analysis from individual, department or organisational perspective

5. Design a highly participatory an engaging programme plan including aims, objectives, unit plan, session schedule and lesson plan

6. Review a range of assessment tools and critically assess the five levels for evaluating training.

 

Participants who successfully complete Training Needs Identification and Design, Level 6 code 6N3325, combined with the Training Delivery and Evaluation 6N3326 module will then achieve a Special Purpose Award Certificate in Training & Development 6S3372 (30 credits). All credits can subsequently contribute to an overall major award. 

ACCREDITATION

Those who satisfy the required criteria will be awarded a QQI Level 6 – Training Needs Identification and Design.

  • Michael Cox

Michael’s unique style, empathy, natural curiosity, business acumen and ability to facilitate strategic thinkers has led to repeated work in the tailoring and bespoke design and development of training, based on specific client requirements.

  • Alison Coleman

Alison’s training speciality is facilitating and enhancing development in leadership, management, business start up and communications.  Alison has worked with Organisational Development Consultants such as Elan Vital Ltd. A recent client list includes Purcell Properties, Fish Face Restaurant, Williamstown Community Childcare Centre and Pink Media to mention a few.
