QQl6 Manual Handling Instructor

This 5 day programme, certified at QQI Level 6 is designed to train participants as Instructors in the area of Manual Handling. Emphasis is placed on the development of trainer skills as well as on the perfecting of manual handling lifting techniques and the analysis of learner performance in this area. Course content will include:

• Legal Overview
• Demonstration Lesson of full Manual Handling programme
•  The Anatomy of the Spine and Mechanism of Injury
• Practical Lifting Exercises- Tutor and Participant led.
• Essential Training Skills
• Participant presentations of selected modules
• Manual Handling Risk Assessment- (To include Assignment brief on same topic)
• Assessment of participants in presentation skills, practical lifting techniques, analysis of learner performance. Written Test is also completed.  A project relating to risk assessment is submitted by participants within 3 weeks of course completion.
