Overview: 

Red Hat has a culture of openness and transparency. A strong value that emerged from that is that decisions should be made with careful consideration and consultation. We favour feedback loops and involvement from leadership down to the teams to refine the outcomes before they get implemented. This is akin to the approach recommended to execute Hoshin Kanri in a Lean environment. The result of our experience in working this way for almost 30 years is available as a free guiding tool called the Open Decision Framework. In our SELN talk, come discover how Red Hat has used this tool over the past 4 months to shape a continuous improvement journey that will impact 12,000 people this year. Leigh is a process improvement specialist who works as a Senior Leader in Red Hat, helping to guide and transform the company’s way of working. He is a recent graduate of the Masters of Business in Lean Enterprise Excellence and pairs that deep Lean experience with the Agile methodology that has become so pervasive in the software industry.
