Wellbeing in the Legal Industry

Kevin Byrne BL has been a practising barrister since 1996 and brings nearly three decades of frontline legal experience to his work on lawyer wellbeing. With a primary degree in Psychology, Kevin has long been fascinated by the workings of the mind and how mindset influences performance and resilience in demanding professions. His CPD session will focus on wellbeing in the legal industry.

For over 20 years, he has been a dedicated practitioner of yoga and meditation, and for the past six years he has lectured extensively on stress management. His approach is built on four cornerstones of wellbeing: meditation, exercise, diet, and sleep. Kevin integrates practical techniques with real-life insights from the courtroom and beyond, offering lawyers tangible tools to manage pressure, protect their health, and thrive in practice.

Kevin understands the importance of balance in both professional and personal life. His passion lies in helping fellow lawyers build resilience and rediscover satisfaction in their careers, summed up in his personal aspiration: “to one day meet a happy lawyer.”
