Effective Minute Taking

Overview:
This 3 hour workshop will show learners how to develop an appreciation of the importance of preparing for meetings, practice improving listening skills, gain an understanding of what needs to be recorded, practice taking down notes, the importance of plain English and looking at how to produce the final professional document. This workshop is highly practical and uses relevant case studies and exercises to explore the specific challenges faced by each learner.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of the workshop, learners will be able to:
• Understand the role and responsibilities of the minute-taker
• Create minutes that are a clear, concise, accurate record of salient points of a meeting
• Recognise some of the traps a minute taking can fall into
• Listen more effectively and take shorter notes
• Structure the minutes with a clear core message and layout
