Mental Health First Aid for Hospitality

Course Overview:

This 2 day course has been designed to give designated staff the skills needed to be effective Mental Health First Aiders. During the course, we will look at how to recognise the common signs and symptoms of an individual whose mental health may be in crisis. Learners will look at how to start the conversation in addressing the problem, offer support and assist the person in getting the support needed.

This is a highly practical course and scenario-based exercises and group discussions will be used throughout to allow learners to gain a better understanding of their Mental Health First Aider role moving forward. The course will focus on the responsibilities of the Mental Health Aider, but will also highlight what is not your responsibility and when it is time for experts to step in.
