Employment Law Update

Ruairi Guckian from GHR Consulting will be with us on the 17th of January for this online workshop on Employment Law Updates.

Agenda:

1. Auto-Enrolment Pension Scheme – employee and employer contributions, % of wages contributed, who is covered in scheme

2. Sick Leave Act – increase to 5 paid sick leave days in 2024, who is entitled to SSP, how the paid sick days can be taken

3. Gender Pay Gap Information Act – increase to cover organisations with 150+ employees, list of information that is required from employers, importance of gender pay gap reporting

4. Work Life Balance & Miscellaneous Bill – right to request remote working, unpaid leave for medical care purposes, paid breastfeeding breaks, domestic violence leave and right to request flexible working arrangements

5. National Minimum Wage/Probationary Period – updates to national minimum wage across all age groups, changes to length of probationary period for all contract types

Ruairi is a highly experienced and qualified HR professional, with both national and international experience. Prior to setting up GHR Consulting, Ruairi worked in senior HR management roles in London and in Galway. Existing clients come from a variety of industries including Hospitality, Retail, Services, etc.

Ruairi is CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) qualified and has a B.Comm from NUIG, a Masters in Corporate Strategy and People Management & Development from NUIG, and a Post Grad in Human Resource Management from London Metropolitan University
